MORE ABOUT US

We belong to the Association of Professional Genealogists and the Society of Genealogists.

We are a small organisation which aims to provide a personal service with high quality research at reasonable rates.

In addition to clients from within the UK and Ireland, we welcome those from the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, along with others from across the English-speaking world.

Our focus is on genealogical and family history research in the UK and Ireland. Over the years, our wide-ranging work has often taken us well beyond the County Record Offices and Libraries of the East of England, where we are based, to include all the main repositories. These include:

Family Record Centre
Latter-Day Saints (Exhibition Road)
Principal Probate Registry
London Metropolitan Archives
Guildhall Library

A working knowledge of these archives enables us to locate and access important research material quickly and efficiently.

Our experience of research into both local and national records includes:

civil registration, parish registers, bishops’ transcripts, non-conformist registers, poor law, census returns, wills, death duty registers, title deeds and leases, sasines, services of heirs, army/navy/air force service documents, militia lists, merchant seamen records, customs and excise, passenger lists (emigration/immigration), police force records, coroners’ inquests, assizes, transportation, quarter sessions, kirk sessions, chancery, jurors’ lists, electoral rolls, poll book entries, apprenticeship indentures, education registers and log books, hospital records, cemetery records, monumental inscriptions, trade directory entries, newspaper reports, poll taxes, land and property taxes, valuation office surveys, tithe maps and apportionments, enclosure maps and awards, manorial and estate rentals and surveys.

In addition, we are always willing to consider fresh areas of genealogical research.
